Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma Launches SRTMI's R&D Schemes and Web Portal

Minister of State for Steel & Heavy Industries, Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, launched three R&D schemes and a web portal under the Steel Research Technology Mission of India (SRTMI). The initiatives aim to drive innovation and sustainability in the steel sector as India targets a 300 MT steel capacity by 2030. The schemes include the Challenge Method, Open Innovation Method, and Start-up Accelerator, while the web portal will facilitate industry-wide collaboration. This move emphasizes the need for technology commercialization and indigenous capital goods manufacturing.
