Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet Elon Musk during his visit to the U.S., where they are expected to discuss Starlink’s plans for launching satellite broadband services in India. Starlink has encountered delays in securing a license, largely due to conflicts over spectrum allocation with major local telecom companies, including Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio. Recently, the Indian government opted to allocate satellite spectrum through administrative means, in line with global standards, which may help streamline Starlink’s operations. This meeting is intended to tackle regulatory challenges and investigate how Starlink can improve internet access in India’s remote regions.
