Nazara's Strategic Leap: Gaming Giant Expands into Physical Entertainment with Funky Monkeys Acquisition

Nazara Technologies has made a bold move into physical entertainment by acquiring a 60% stake in Funky Monkeys Play Centers for ₹43.7 crore. This strategic acquisition marks Nazara's expansion beyond digital gaming, leveraging Funky Monkeys' network of 11 indoor play centers across India. The deal aims to create an integrated ecosystem spanning both digital and physical gaming experiences. Funky Monkeys, targeting children aged 1-12, reported a turnover of ₹19.4 crore in FY 2023-24. This acquisition is part of Nazara's larger ₹196 crore investment strategy to strengthen its position in gaming, entertainment, and education sectors, showcasing the company's commitment to diversifying its portfolio and revenue streams.
