Neeru Pathak Anchors India’s Women’s 4x400m Relay To Gold At Asian U20 Championships

Neeru Pathak delivered a powerful anchor leg to secure victory for India in the women’s 4x400m relay. Alongside teammates Bhumika Sanjay Nehate, Tahura Khatun, and Sehnoor Bawa, the quartet broke the previous meet record of 3:38.20 set by Japan in 2018. Kazakhstan took silver, while host Hong Kong claimed bronze. 

India’s Medal Tally

India concluded the championships with 19 medals:

• 10 gold
• 5 silver
• 4 bronze
• This placed India second overall, behind China (25 medals, 14 gold) and ahead of Japan (18 medals, 5 gold). 

Other Highlights From Final Day

• Muskan won gold in the women’s 5,000m with a time of 16:53.08.
• Venkatram Reddy Mogali claimed gold in the men’s 800m, clocking a personal best of 1:48.27.
• Nishchay secured silver in men’s discus throw with a personal-best 60.10m, becoming the first Indian U20 athlete to cross the 60m mark.
• The men’s 4x400m relay team (Piyush Raj, Sayed Sabeer, Ranjith Kumar S, Mohammed Ashfaq) won bronze in 3:05.54, setting a new Indian U20 national record.
