After the cancellation of NEET UG 2026 over alleged paper leak irregularities, the government and NTA have announced a re-exam along with key changes in schedule and process. What Is The New NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Date?

The cancelled NEET UG 2026 will now be re-conducted as a re-exam on 21 June 2026 in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. The exam time has been slightly extended: it will run from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm instead of the usual 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm slot, giving students 15 extra minutes. No fresh registration is required; all existing candidates remain eligible automatically.

When And How Will Admit Cards Be Issued?

New NEET UG 2026 re-exam admit cards will be released by 14 June 2026 on the official NTA website. Students will log in with their existing application number and password or DOB to download the fresh hall ticket; the old admit card from the cancelled exam is no longer valid.

Candidates will also get a one-week window to reselect or confirm their exam city preference, which is useful for those who have relocated or faced logistical issues since the original May exam.

What’s Changing About Fees And Exam Mode?

The government has announced that the examination fee paid for the cancelled NEET UG 2026 will be refunded, and there will be zero additional fees for the re-exam. States have been asked to help with transport arrangements so students can reach centres more easily, especially in case of adverse weather on 21 June.

The bigger structural reform comes from next year: NEET UG will shift from OMR-based pen-and-paper to a fully Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, in line with other major entrance exams. This move is aimed at improving security, reducing leak risks and making exam conduct more robust.
