New FASTag Rules Effective from February 17: Avoid Extra Charges

Starting February 17, 2025, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) will implement new FASTag balance validation rules to streamline toll transactions and reduce fraudulent activities. Under these rules, if a FASTag has been blacklisted for more than 60 minutes before reaching a toll plaza and remains blacklisted for at least 10 minutes after being scanned, the transaction will be declined, and the vehicle will be charged double the toll fee. To avoid penalties, users should maintain sufficient balance, regularly update KYC details, and ensure their FASTag is active before journeys.
