The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has set June 14 as the final date for Aadhaar holders to update their details online at no cost. This initiative provides individuals an opportunity to refresh their demographic information without incurring the standard fee.

Steps to Update Aadhaar Online
- Visit the official UIDAI portal at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
- Log in using your Aadhaar number and captcha code
- Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number
- Verify existing details and select the document update option if needed
- Upload the necessary files in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format, ensuring they are under 2MB in size
- Submit the documents and track the request using the service request number

Important Considerations
- The free update service applies only to demographic details such as name (minor changes), date of birth (with restrictions), address, gender, and language preferences
- Biometric updates, including photographs and fingerprints, require a visit to an Aadhaar enrolment center
- Keeping Aadhaar information updated ensures smooth access to government subsidies, banking services, and other essential verifications

Post-Deadline Changes
- After June 14, updates will require a fee and must be completed at physical Aadhaar centers
- UIDAI regulations mandate proof of identity and address updates every 10 years from the date of enrolment
- Regular updates help maintain accuracy in the Aadhaar database, preventing misuse and ensuring seamless access to public services
