After a roadblock in the form of a temporary delay, Aamir Khan's much-anticipated Sitaare Zameen Par has been officially cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), allowing it to hit the screens on June 20, 2025. The movie, which is being described as the spiritual follow-up to Taare Zameen Par, had earlier faced delays in certification over editing demands.
Resolution and Certification
The CBFC initially suggested two cuts, which director RS Prasanna and Aamir Khan resisted, arguing that the scenes were part of the film's narrative.
Following negotiations, the board gave its approval, and the movie was able to proceed without further delays.
Earlier, the British Censor Board had cleared the film with a 12A rating.
Cast and Storyline
Aamir Khan stars as a determined coach who trains a team of neurodivergent kids.
Genelia D'Souza is Khan's co-star, marking her return to mainstream cinema after a year.
The film also casts ten debutants, lending authenticity to its picturization of inclusion and perseverance.
Production and Release
RS Prasanna is the director and the producer is Aamir Khan Productions.
The film runs for 2 hours and 35 minutes.
Advance bookings would open soon.
Now that Sitaare Zameen Par has received the clearance, it will be ready with an inspiring cinematic experience.
