Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has successfully acquired 100% equity shares of Mahan Transmission Limited, a project SPV for developing an intrastate transmission system (InSTS) scheme in Madhya Pradesh. This acquisition marks AESL's second InSTS win in the state, following its earlier success with the MP Power Transmission Package-II Ltd.
Mahan Transmission Limited is responsible for developing a transmission system to evacuate power from the proposed 2×800-MW thermal power project of Mahan Energen Ltd., a subsidiary of Adani Power Ltd. The project involves constructing two 400/220/132kV substations at Rewa and Amarpatan, along with associated transmission lines.
This strategic move aligns with AESL's broader strategy to enhance its presence in the Indian energy sector. Recently, AESL also acquired Essar's Mahan-Sipat transmission assets for an enterprise value of ₹1,900 crore, expanding its operational network in central India.
The acquisition of Mahan Transmission Limited underscores AESL's commitment to augmenting its transmission capacities and creating operational synergies across its network.
