AIIMS Bhopal has made it to the top by securing the second all-India rank for digital Out-Patient Department (OPD) registrations, which has been a landmark achievement in healthcare innovation in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
Major Highlights:
AIIMS Bhopal's paperless OPD registration facility, based on the 'Scan and Share' service, has revolutionized patient experience by doing away with long queues and paperwork.
The hospital has issued more than 1.45 million online OPD tokens, indicating the quick uptake and confidence of patients in the new platform.
With the 'Scan and Share' facility, patients can easily scan a QR code in the hospital using their phones and register immediately for OPD consultations and collect tokens without waiting.
This e-transformation significantly curtailed waiting times among patients, increased the efficiency of operations, and decreased congestion at hospital facilities.
The effort forms part of the overall Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, a vision to enhance delivery of health services across India by leveraging technology solutions.
The achievement of AIIMS Bhopal was hailed by the National Health Authority for its dedication towards digitalization and patient-centric approaches.
AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Prof (Dr) Ajai Singh attributed the achievement to the zeal of the staff at the hospital and their open approach to the latest technologies.
The Scan and Share service is being used in thousands of healthcare centers across the country, but AIIMS Bhopal is a class apart when it comes to implementation and patient interaction.
The model of digital OPD registration is now being applied to pharmacy and diagnostic services as well, adding to the convenience of patients.
