In an attempt to give Bihar's development and infrastructure a big boost before crucial assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Motihari on July 18 to lay foundation stones and inaugurate projects worth a record ₹7,217 crore. It will be his 53rd visit to the state after becoming the prime minister, the political and development priority of Bihar finding place in the national agenda.
Key Points of the Announcement
Multi-Sectoral Approach: The sectors vary from roads, railway to electronics, rural development, animal husbandry, dairy, and even support to self-help groups to attain all-round development of the region.
Railways & Roadways Boost: Over ₹5,398 crore allotted for building railway infrastructure and over ₹1,173 crore for highways and connectivity schemes to transform Bihar's transport infrastructure.
Rural Welfare Projects: Direct cash assistance of ₹162 crore to 40,000 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin beneficiaries and 12,000 families will be given new houses.
Support to Self-Help Groups: ₹400 crore to empower 61,500 self-help groups to promote grass-root entrepreneurship and women empowerment.
Electronics & Tech Investment: ₹63 crore will be invested by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, signaling a digital Bihar.
Water & Sanitation Projects: New sewage, sanitation, and water supply projects are initiated to improve public health and urban living standards.
Direct Political Communication: The visit is at a time of heightened political activity in Bihar, and in keeping with the NDA's developmental-oriented election campaign.
Mobilization for Growth: The PM's visit has been followed by massive outreach by the ruling parties to gain maximum visibility and enthusiasm.
This ambitious pipeline of initiatives will spur industrial growth, raise connectivity, and directly improve the quality of life in Bihar's urban and rural enclaves.
