Arkade Developers Acquires Iconic Filmistan Studio for ₹1.83 Bn—Eyes Mixed-Use Redevelopment in Mumbai

Arkade Developers Ltd, a premium Mumbai-based real estate firm, has approved the acquisition of 100% equity in Filmistan Studio Pvt Ltd for a total consideration of ₹1.83 billion. The move marks a strategic leap into redevelopment of legacy properties, with the Filmistan site—located in Mumbai’s Goregaon West—offering immense potential for mixed-use residential and commercial development.

 

The acquisition aligns with Arkade’s post-IPO strategy of expanding its footprint in high-value micro-markets across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Filmistan, once a hub of Bollywood’s golden era, spans over 5 acres of prime land, making it a rare and valuable asset in the city’s land-starved real estate landscape.

 

Arkade plans to leverage its expertise in premium residential redevelopment to transform the site into a landmark project, potentially blending heritage aesthetics with modern urban living.
