After weeks of speculation and fan heartbreak, Paresh Rawal has officially confirmed his return to the muchawaited Hera Pheri 3, reprising his iconic role as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte. The veteran actor had earlier exited the project citing concerns over disorganization and lack of a finalized script, triggering a legal standoff with costar and producer Akshay Kumar.\
No More Drama: Speaking on The Himanshu Mehta Show, Rawal clarified, “There’s no controversy. It’s all resolved now.” He emphasized the responsibility of honoring a franchise so deeply loved by audiences.
Creative FineTuning: Rawal revealed that the delay stemmed from the need for “finetuning” among the creative team, which includes longtime collaborators Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and director Priyadarshan.
Legal Tussle Ends: Rawal had returned the signing amount of ₹11 lakh with 15% interest after Akshay’s production house filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit. Both parties have since buried the hatchet.
Fan Relief: The return of the original trio—Raju, Shyam, and Baburao—has reignited excitement for the third installment, which is now back on track for production.
Legacy Matters: Rawal stressed that when something is “loved by so many,” it must be handled with care and sincerity, adding, “You can’t take things for granted.”
With the OG cast reunited and the air cleared, Hera Pheri 3 is once again poised to deliver the chaos, comedy, and cult magic fans have waited nearly two decades for.
