In a major milestone for India’s rail sector, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has begun supplying semi-high-speed underslung traction converters for the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train project. The first set of equipment was flagged off from BHEL’s Bengaluru facility and dispatched to Kolkata, where the sleeper train units will undergo final assembly.
