Bihar enters the decisive stretch of its 2025 Assembly elections today as Phase 2 voting begins across 122 constituencies. The Election Commission of India has deployed over four lakh personnel to ensure smooth polling at 45,399 booths, including 40,073 in rural areas. Voting will be held from 7 AM to 5 PM, with extra time allotted for those already in queue.
This phase will determine the political future of 1,302 candidates, including more than half a dozen ministers from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s cabinet. Key districts going to polls include West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj. The contest remains intense between the NDA alliance and the Mahagathbandhan, with voter turnout expected to match or exceed the 64.66% recorded in Phase 1.
