Experts are increasingly looking at biomass as a viable pathway for green hydrogen production in India. At the India Energy Week in Bengaluru, Indian Oil Corporation Director-R&D Dr SSV Ramakumar characterized the biomass path as "very, very promising," highlighting its over electrolysis. With India having rich agricultural residues, hydrogen production based on biomass could be a more efficient and economically sustainable option. The strategy fits in with India's vision of becoming energy-independent by 2047 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070 and could revolutionize India's energy transition plan.
