BMW India has introduced the limited-edition Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition, representing a notable milestone as the iconic roadster is available with a six-speed manual transmission for the first time ever in the country. It is priced at ₹96.90 lakh for the automatic and ₹97.90 lakh for the manual (ex-showroom), and this special edition comes in as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) product.
The Pure Impulse Edition adopts specific updates, which include two new exterior colors—Frozen Deep Green and Sanremo Green—and a staggered wheel configuration with 19 inches in the front and 20 inches at the back with the M light alloy wheels. While the manual variant, features Vernasca Cognac leather with contrast stitching, adding some distinctive decor inside the car.
Under the hood, the Z4 M40i is powered by a 3.0L inline-six turbo-petrol engine that produces a smooth 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds with the manual transmission and 4.5 seconds with the automatic. The car is equipped with excellent features, including the Adaptive M Suspension, M Sport brakes, and a near-balanced weight distribution of 50:50.
On the inside, the roadster features the latest technology, including a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, wireless Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, and the optional Harman Kardon sound system. Safety features included in the car are the Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, and various airbags.
This launch is aimed at driving enthusiasts looking for a combination of luxury and performance in their car, without the dismissive feeling of an automatic transmission.
