The WTT Star Contender Chennai 2025 saw Indian paddlers experiencing mixed fortunes on Day 2. Nithya Mani and Radhapriya Goel performed outstandingly in Women's Doubles, overcoming Jennifer Varghese and Divyanshi Bhowmick in four games (11-9, 11-9, 10-12, 11-6) to proceed to the next round. Their coordination and tactical approach guaranteed an authoritative win.
But in Singles play, Tamil Nadu's Hansini Mathan and Abhinandh Pradhivadhi were left heartbroken. Hansini lost a cliff-hanger five-game encounter with Syndrela Das after being ahead early. Abhinandh too came up short in a thrilling encounter against Italy's John Oyebode, losing 2-3 narrowly despite a strong beginning.
The tournament still features top-notch table tennis with international stars battling for ranking points and a $275,000 prize money. Indian fans continue to look up to more success in the doubles events.
