The Chess Association of Nagpur (CAN) marked International Chess Day 2025 with a spirited celebration, organizing a districtlevel amateur selection tournament that drew nearly 200 participants. Held at G.H. Raisoni Institute of Information and Technology, the tournament featured 196 players, including 77 FIDErated contenders.

The competition followed a nineround format, with top performers receiving cash prizes sponsored by MKH Sancheti Group, along with trophies and medals.

The event was jointly supported by G.H. Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation, Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation, and MKH Sancheti Group.

FA Sagar Sakhare served as chief arbiter, assisted by a team of certified officials including FA Bharti Dhote and SNA Prayas Ambade.
