Speaking at PLASTINDIA 2026, she emphasized the need for responsible growth, circular economy solutions, and achieving the ambitious goal of recycling 100% of plastic waste.
At the 12th International PLASTINDIA 2026 Exhibition, Conference and Convention, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the urgent need for the plastic industry to embrace sustainability. She stressed that while plastic manufacturing is a vital part of India’s MSME sector, responsible growth must be the guiding principle.
Gupta noted that Delhi generates thousands of tonnes of plastic waste daily, posing a major challenge to the city’s cleanliness and environmental health. She called upon industry leaders to innovate, develop eco-friendly products, and work towards the ambitious target of 100% recycling of plastic waste.
Her remarks also positioned India as a potential global hub for plastic processing, with opportunities for MSMEs to expand responsibly while contributing to a greener future.
