The Rs 180 crore investment includes completed works amounting to about Rs 98.79 crore and newly sanctioned projects worth Rs 81.50 crore forming part of a larger Rs 717.29 crore modernisation plan. Six-Storey MLT Block
A state-of-the-art six-storey Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Block was inaugurated at a cost of Rs 21.35 crore. It houses a library, lecture halls, research rooms, conference spaces, and examination halls, enhancing both academic and research capabilities for students and medical professionals.
Seven-Storey Operation Theatre Block
Highlighting clinical advancement, a Rs 81.50 crore seven-storey Operating Theatre (OT) Block featuring 14 advanced theatres, 145 patient beds, and 16 intensive care units (ICUs) was inaugurated. This facility is set to augment the hospital’s surgical and critical care capacity significantly.
Advanced Imaging Department
A cutting-edge Imaging Department has been established with an investment of Rs 43.9 crore. This includes the latest digital radiography systems, ultrasound machines, MRI, CT-DR, and mobile X-ray equipment, facilitating timely and precise diagnostics.

Cardiology and Neurology Enhancements
The new KHRWS Cardiac Catheterization Lab costing Rs 8.5 crore complements existing cardiology, neurology, and paediatric care infrastructure. Nuclear Medicine equipment including a SPECT CT and 128-slice CT Unit were commissioned to bolster diagnostic precision.
Pediatric Speciality Upgrades
Upgrades at the SAT Hospital incorporated a renovated Paediatric Neuro Ward and the state’s only public sector Pediatric Nephro Dialysis Unit. A Paediatric Gastro Endoscopy Unit was also set up with an expenditure of Rs 93.36 lakh, expanding specialised care for children.
Unique Healthcare Initiatives
Additional initiatives inaugurated include a Mother-Newborn Care Unit (Rs 1 crore), Urodynamic Study Centre (Rs 1.5 crore), Breast Milk Bank (Rs 19.5 lakh), and a Skin Bank with a modern Burns Unit (Rs 3.2 crore), addressing crucial healthcare gaps in maternal, neonatal, and burn care.
