The HPV vaccine prevents several cancers; however, several myths persist. In fact, this vaccine is not only for girls; it saves both males and females from throat and anal cancer, among others. Its effectiveness is maximum if it is taken before one begins sexual activities. There are no valid grounds for the myths surrounding its safety as a significant number of researches prove that side effects are very minor and severe risks do not exist. Awareness of these facts may help the individuals make well-informed decisions in health issues.
