Delhi’s Education Leap: 75 CM Shri Schools Set to Spark a Classroom Revolution

The Delhi government has selected 75 schools under its ambitious 'CM Shri Schools' program, with the aim to restart public education with the most modern infrastructure, sustainability, and NEP 2020 compliance. The model schools are expected to go into operation in the coming weeks, as a giant leap in education transformation in Delhi.
 
Key Highlights:
  • Intelligent & Green Campuses: The schools will feature AIbased libraries, AR/VRequipped smart classrooms, robotics labs, biometric attendance, and solarpowered zerowaste campuses—a first for the Delhi public education system.
  • PM Shri Model Inspired: A Delhispecific version of the Centre's PM Shri Schools but for the urban education requirements of Delhi, at a budget of ₹100 crore provided in the 2025–26 state budget.
  • Development of Existing Schools: The majority of the shortlisted schools are developing existing government schools, which will result in faster implementation and more efficient use of infrastructure.
  • Recruitment Drive Initiated: The Directorate of Education initiated the recruitment of teachers, principals, and viceprincipals, first priority to experienced teachers with five years or more tenure left before retirement.
  • Updated Curriculum: The schools will implement the National Curriculum Framework 2023, with focus on 21stcentury skills, experiential learning, and inclusive pedagogy.
  • Political Background: The step follows the BJP's recent victory in Delhi, spearheaded by Education Minister Ashish Sood and CM Rekha Gupta to launch.
