Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a thumping standing ovation and emotional welcome by the Indian diaspora in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on arrival for an historic two-day bilateral visit—the first of its kind by an Indian Prime Minister to the South American nation in 57 years. The reception, held at Alvear Palace Hotel, had classical dance performances of traditional Indian classical dances, "Modi-Modi," "Jai Hind," "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," and authentic interactions with members of society.
"Distance is no barrier when it comes to cultural connect! Grateful for the warm welcome from the Indian community in Buenos Aires," wrote PM Modi on X.
The Prime Minister's visit is a component of a broader five-nation trip to enhance India's outreach to the Global South. His arrival at Ezeiza International Airport received a ceremonial welcome, with an energetic cultural festival by the Indian community later.

"Both nations must utilize the time to grow economically and expand their cultural interactions," said the member of the diaspora during the event.
