As June 2025 arrives, Indian bank customers are gearing up for a month packed with holidays—so planning your financial errands is more important than ever. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released its official calendar, revealing that banks will be closed for up to 12 days this month, combining regular weekends with major national and state-specific festivals.

Key Highlights:

Bakrid Closures: The most significant holiday is Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha), causing banks in Kerala to shut on June 6 (Friday) and a near-nationwide closure on June 7 (Saturday). Some exceptions apply, such as Gujarat, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Kerala, where banks may remain open on June 7.

Regional Festivities: June 11 marks Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti and Saga Dawa, closing banks in Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya. Ratha Yatra/Kang on June 27 affects Odisha and Manipur, while Remna Ni on June 30 shuts banks in Mizoram.

Routine Closures: All banks will be closed on Sundays (June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) and the second and fourth Saturdays (June 14, 28).

Digital Banking Uninterrupted: While physical branches go on break, digital services—mobile banking, internet banking, ATMs, and UPI—remain fully operational, ensuring you can manage finances without disruption.

Pro Tip: With several long weekends and state-specific breaks, always double-check with your local branch before planning in-person visits, especially for urgent transactions or travel.

Stay ahead, plan smart, and let digital banking be your ally this June!
