Farhan Akhtar is taking on one of his most powerful roles yet in "120 Bahadur," a film inspired by Major Shaitan Singh Bhati’s incredible bravery during the 1962 India-China war. If you haven’t heard about Major Singh, his story is one of those that sticks with you long after you learn about it.

Key Highlights:
  • Farhan plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who led 120 soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment during the Battle of Rezang La in Ladakh.
  • On November 18, 1962, Major Singh and his men faced more than 3,000 Chinese soldiers. The odds were impossible, and the conditions were brutal.
  • Despite being outnumbered and cut off from help, Major Singh kept his men motivated and organized. They managed to hold off wave after wave of attacks, defending a key airstrip.
  • Out of 120 soldiers, 114 were killed, but their stand is remembered as one of the most heroic in Indian military history. Their resistance delayed the enemy and became a symbol of courage.
Even after being badly wounded, Major Singh moved between posts, encouraging his men until his last moments. He told his soldiers to leave him behind so they could try to survive.
Major Shaitan Singh was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honor, for his actions.

The film is directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and is set to release on November 21, 2025. The music is by Amit Trivedi, with lyrics from Javed Akhtar.
