Maye Musk, renowned model and nutritionist, has revealed that her son Elon Musk played a pivotal role in shaping her bestselling book, Feel Fantastic: Maye Musk’s Good Health Clinic. Originally intending to write about complex metabolic science, Maye was persuaded by Elon to focus instead on her realworld experiences as a practicing dietitian—a shift that turned the book into a surprise hit.
The Turning Point:
In a nostalgic post on X, Maye recalled showing Elon her draft during a visit to New York in 1995. Elon, then a student at Wharton, found the content on metabolism and mitochondria “boring” and urged her to write about her daily interactions with patients instead.
The Result:
That advice led to a complete rewrite. The publisher loved the new direction and released the book as Feel Fantastic, which quickly sold out and made Maye the first dietitian to have a book featured on a cereal box.
Legacy in Print:
Published in 1996, the book offers practical guidance on nutrition, fitness, and selfconfidence, and continues to resonate with readers nearly three decades later. It holds a 4.2star rating on Amazon and has been translated into multiple languages, including Hindi.
A Mother’s Gratitude:
Maye’s recent tribute to Elon on his 54th birthday included a heartfelt thankyou for his early encouragement, calling him “my genius boy.”
Sometimes, the best editorial advice comes from family—especially when your son is Elon Musk.
