Hyderabad's dance culture in the classical style was at its peak as over 150 dancers from 20 schools filled the stage at the CESS Auditorium, Greenlands, Begumpet, at the "Muvvala Savvadi – Melodious Footsteps" festival. The day-long event on May 3 sponsored by Amrutha Cultural Trust honored India's rich dance heritage with mesmerizing performances in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, and Andhra Natyam.
Artists like veteran IAS officer Vinod Agarwal and Andhra Natyam guru Kala Krishna appreciated the festival for reinstating Indian classical arts to their former glory and uniting different academies. A well-known panel of judges evaluated dancers in terms of mudras, abhinaya, group coordination, and costume design, appreciating their hard work and talent.
Organizers emphasized the purpose of the festival to support artists and make Hyderabad a thriving hub for classical dance so that these ageless arts keep inspiring new generations of artists.
