Ayodhya's Ram Mandir is set to witness a historic flag-hoisting ceremony in November, marking a new chapter in the history of the temple and attracting devotees and dignitaries from all over India and the globe. The flag-hoisting ceremony is set to rival the splendour of the temple's Pran Pratishtha, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to be the chief guest.
Key Highlights
• The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust shortlisted November 16 and November 25 as potential dates for the ceremony, and the date would be finalized based on auspicious timings recommended by astrologers.
• The main ritual will witness the Ramdhwaj (holy flag) being unfurled on top of the temple's 161-feet tall shikhara (spire). Flags will be unfurled on the summits of all other temples in the complex, representing the victory of Lord Ram and the glory of dharma.
• The festival will also comprise Vedic chanting, special pujas, and classical music. Ram Katha (chanting of the life history of Lord Ram) and concerts by talented musicians and artistes of the country are also planned to add to the spiritual and cultural environment.
• Thousands of special visitors, such as saints, religious personalities, VIPs, and Ram devotees from India and abroad, are expected to come. The Trust, as well as the local authorities, have made big arrangements for accommodation and security, with all the hotels, dharamshalas, and guest houses already filled.
• The festival is considered to be a step towards the completion of the temple building and as a proclamation of the timelessness of Ayodhya's spiritual significance.
