Mega AI Data Center Announced: Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics maker, has partnered with Nvidia to build a cutting-edge artificial intelligence data center in Taiwan with a targeted power capacity of 100 megawatts. The announcement was made by Foxconn Chairman Young Liu at the Computex 2025 trade show in Taipei.
Phased Development: The AI data center will be constructed in several phases, starting with 20MW and scaling up to the full 100MW as demand and power availability grow. Initial locations include Kaohsiung, with potential expansion to other Taiwanese cities.
Supercharged by Nvidia: The facility will be equipped with 10,000 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs and advanced networking technologies, including Nvidia NVLink, Quantum InfiniBand, and Spectrum-X ethernet. This powerhouse setup will support Foxconn’s ambitions in smart cities, electric vehicles, and next-generation manufacturing.
Ecosystem Impact: The center will serve as a regional AI cloud hub, offering computing resources to industries across Taiwan. Key users will include the Taiwan National Science and Technology Council, TSMC researchers, and a wide range of enterprises and government agencies.
FoxBrain and GenAI: Foxconn will leverage its proprietary FoxBrain AI model, built on open-source technologies like Meta Llama-3 and -4, to drive innovation in smart EVs, factories, and city infrastructure. Mitsubishi will be among the first OEMs to use Foxconn’s smart EV reference platforms.
Industry Vision: Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called the project an “AI factory” for the entire Taiwan ecosystem, emphasizing the transformative role of AI in science and industry. Foxconn’s expansion into AI, EVs, and smart manufacturing signals a new era of tech-driven growth.
