June 26, 2025, marked the arrival of Shukla on the ISS as part of Axiom Space's international crew commanded by commander Peggy Whitson. The 14-day mission, with emphasis on cutting-edge science research and technology demonstration, was carried out by Shukla. His mission has involved performing experiments of interest to space medicine, material science, and climate observation and sharing his experiences with students and citizens of his nation.
 
In a live session with PM Modi, Shukla narrated his amazement at the borderless beauty of the world Earth by stating, "I see no borders from space," which resonated across the nation.
