Andhra Pradesh has rolled out its ambitious Aerospace & Defence Policy 4.0 (2025–2030) with the vision to position the state as India's leading destination for next-generation aerospace and defence technology. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's vision plan has a target of ₹1 lakh crore of investments in five years, on the basis of cluster-based growth and innovative cutting-edge technologies to position the state at the top in the industry.

Key Highlights:

Huge Target Investment: The policy has the target to draw ₹50,000 crore to ₹1 lakh crore of investment, creating a robust defence and aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.

Strategic Corridors: High-tech manufacturing corridors will specialize in naval systems (Visakhapatnam–Srikakulam), missile manufacture (Jaggaiahpet–Donakonam), drone technology (Kurnool–Orvakal), and aerospace electronics (Lepakshi–Madakasira), while Tirupati will be an R&D hub with a planned DRDO Centre of Excellence.

MSME Empowerment: A ₹100 crore fund every year and subsidies on logistics will benefit the MSMEs, making them join the value chain.

Early Successes: Already, 23 firms have put in ₹22,000 crore, generating 17,000 jobs for the state's aerospace clusters.

Prospects:

Andhra Pradesh's cluster strategy, policy, and industry engagement are poised to make it a national leader in aerospace and defence. The state's focus on innovation, MSME growth, and high-value employment can be the new model for India's technology-led economic future.
