Bollywood star Varun Dhawan has officially wrapped the Scotland shooting schedule of his highly awaited romantic comedy, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The wrap was celebrated with a spate of behind-the-scenes pictures and sentimental messages posted by Varun on social media, offering fans a peek at the camaraderie and spirit that marked the international shoot.

Varun captioned his Instagram post, "It's a schedule wrap for us here in Scotland on #haijawaanitohishqhonahai. So many days everyone pulling together to make this happen. Bringing u all the laughs soon. Now back home." The post showed shots with co-stars Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy, Chunkey Panday, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, and others, and producer Ramesh Taurani. Varun's family members, namely his director father David Dhawan and mother Karuna Dhawan, were present on the sets as well, thus making it a family affair.

The Scotland shoot, which lasted for nearly a month, was filled with comic scenes, chase sequences, and two colorful song shoots, including a highly-publicized recreation of 90s hit "Chunari Chunari" with Varun, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur. The quirky title of the film has been taken from the song "Ishq Sona Hai" from David Dhawan's 1999 classic Biwi No.1, and the film hopes to capture the romance and mayhem of typical 90s rom-coms.

Comments from industry peers poured in, as Janhvi Kapoor wrote, "Sunny Sanskari is needed back in the bay asap pls," while Arjun Kapoor jokingly referred to producer Ramesh Taurani as "The hypebeast". The cast also features Mouni Roy, Chunkey Panday, Rakesh Bedi, Ali Asgar, Kubbra Sait, Rohit Saraf, Rajeev Khandelwal, Nitish Nirmal, and Sreeleela.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani under Tips Films and directed by David Dhawan, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is slated for release on April 10, 2026. The film promises a blend of humor, romance, and high-energy music, with fans eagerly awaiting more updates as the team returns to India for the next phase of production.
