GAIL India, the national largest gas distributor, was not reported to have invited bids for 3 LNG cargoes annually for 3 years with a bid deadline on April 2. Yet, recent news includes inviting a swap tender for six LNG cargoes and another tender for nine LNG cargoes over three years. The swap tender is for exchanging cargoes discharged from the U.S. with deliveries to India, and the other tender is for cargoes for particular delivery dates in 2025, 2026, and 2027.
GAIL remains in the LNG market, and open deals and tenders are a witness to its strategic initiatives for securing natural gas supply. GAIL is highly present in India's energy industry with numerous partnerships and agreements in place for pushing green hydrogen and increasing LNG capacities.
