Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 7th Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar, a first for the state to organize this national sporting event. Addressing over 6,000 young sportspersons from five cities, Modi emphasized that a strong sporting culture makes India's soft power stronger overseas and unity greater at home. He highlighted the government's investment of ₹4,000 crore in improving sports infrastructure, with over 1,000 Khelo India centers now nurturing talent nationwide.
Modi cited IPL star Vaibhav Suryavanshi as proof that regular competition sharpens the skills of sportspersons, stating, "The more you play, the more you shine". He reaffirmed India's aspiration to host the 2036 Olympics and stressed early talent identification and training through schemes like Khelo India and TOPS. The Games also showcase traditional sports, making them inclusive and a source of pride in culture.
