The government stressed the important contribution sport makes to nation building into healthier communities and society. And, the government has acknowledged the value of sport and physical activity for individuals, communities and the economy. A new sport strategy called 'Get Active' has been launched with the aim of making the whole nation more active by the year 2030, looking for an additional 2.5 million adults and 1 million children to be in the active population in England. The strategy's key areas include making sport more inclusive and welcoming for all, promoting women's sport and disability sport, and working towards a more sustainable sector. The government believes a healthier population leads to healthier communities and a healthier, more prosperous society. It also reinforces the importance of creating life-long habits of physical activity for children and young people.
