Glass Houses and Political Stones: Delhi's 'Sheesh Mahal' Under Scrutiny

The Central Vigilance Commission has ordered an inquiry into the refurbishment of the Delhi Chief Minister's house, which has been nicknamed 'Sheesh Mahal' by critics. The investigation will look into suspected property mergers to increase the 6, Flagstaff Road bungalow and probe interior spending. This comes after the BJP won recent Delhi Assembly elections, where Parvesh Verma beat former CM Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency. Verma, who is now part of the BJP Cabinet, had fought the election aggressively on the issue of 'Sheesh Mahal', blaming Kejriwal for his extravagant expenditure during his rule. The probe fuels political tensions in the capital as the new government comes to power.
