New Delhi, January 16, 2026, The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has announced the extension of export incentives to shipments made via postal routes, effective January 15. This landmark decision brings postal exports under the ambit of Duty Drawback, Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP), and Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) schemes.
The Finance Ministry highlighted that this initiative will significantly benefit MSME exporters, particularly those from smaller towns and remote regions, by reducing costs and improving competitiveness. It also aligns with India’s broader strategy to strengthen e-commerce exports and diversify trade channels.
