Grasim Industries has started commercial production at its Kharagpur paints plant with a total capacity of 236 million liters per annum (MLPA). This marks a key milestone for Birla Opus, positioning Grasim as the second-largest player in India’s decorative paints segment with expanding pan-India manufacturing infrastructure.
Grasim Industries Limited, a flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has commenced commercial production at its Kharagpur paints plant, which boasts a sizable capacity of 236 MLPA. This facility forms part of Grasim’s ambitious Birla Opus paints business initiative, aimed at expanding its footprint in the rapidly growing decorative paints market in India.
The Kharagpur plant is the sixth greenfield facility commissioned under the Birla Opus brand, complementing five other plants strategically located across Panipat, Ludhiana, Cheyyar, Chamarajnagar, and Mysore.
