India's track field witnessed a record-breaking moment when Animesh Kujur shattered the men's 100m national record in the Dromia International Sprint and Relays Meeting in Greece, with a time of 10.18 seconds. The 22-year-old became the first Indian in history to complete 100m in under 10.20 seconds, shattering Gurindervir Singh's 10.20 seconds record set in 2021.
Kujur's achievement not only made him India's fastest man, but also sealed his dominance as an Indian athlete, as he now owns the 100m and 200m national records. He had already broken the 200m record in 20.32 seconds earlier in the month of May at the Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea.
