Green Light for Steel Might—Godavari Power Gets Nod for Rs 6,000 Cr Raipur Plant

Godavari Power & Ispat Ltd (GPIL) has received environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for its proposed 2 million tonnes per annum integrated steel plant in Chhattisgarh. The approval was granted during the 7th meeting of the Expert Appraisal Committee held on July 9, 2025.

The plant will be located at Village Sarora, Tehsil Tilda, District Raipur
It will be developed in two modules of 1 MTPA each
The clearance enables GPIL to proceed with construction and operational planning
