Haryana’s Kabaddi Stars Shine at Khelo India Youth Games

Haryana’s dominance in kabaddi was on full display at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, as the state’s under-18 boys’ team clinched the gold medal with a commanding victory over Maharashtra. Led by captain Jai Hind Lather, the team showcased skill, strategy, and determination, reinforcing Haryana’s reputation as a powerhouse in the sport.  

 

Road to Glory:  

- Haryana defeated Maharashtra 39-28 in the final, securing their place at the top.  

- The team’s journey included emphatic wins over Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh before edging past Rajasthan in a close semi-final.  

- Raiders Prince Dahiya, Ishant, and Nikhil played pivotal roles, earning crucial points with their aggressive gameplay.  

- The players credited their success to the inspiration drawn from Haryana’s Pro Kabaddi League stars, including Pardeep Narwal and Deepak Niwas Hooda.  

- Many young athletes from the team aspire to make their mark in the Pro Kabaddi League, using the Khelo India platform as a stepping stone.
