HG Infra Engineering Ltd has secured a significant win in the power infrastructure space, receiving a Letter of Intent (LOI) from PFC Consulting Ltd to establish an inter-state transmission system in Odisha. This project, part of the Eastern Region Generation Scheme – I (ERGS-I), marks a new chapter for the company as it steps into the transmission development sector.

Key Highlights:

HG Infra was declared the lowest bidder for the ERGS-I project after a competitive process that included industry heavyweights like Power Grid Corporation of India and Tata Power. The contract was awarded under a tariff-based competitive bidding mechanism.

The project will be developed under a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) model. HG Infra will receive annual transmission charges of ₹431.11 million, with the project scheduled for completion by March 28, 2028.

The scope involves the LILO (Line-In, Line-Out) of both circuits of the existing 765kV Angul-Sundargarh lines at the Talabira power generation plant switchyard of NLC India Ltd. The estimated project cost is around ₹413 crore.

This win is notable as it marks HG Infra’s entry into the interstate transmission development sector, diversifying its portfolio beyond roads and highways.

Following the announcement, HG Infra’s shares saw a positive uptick, reflecting market confidence in the company’s ability to execute large-scale infrastructure projects.

With this order, HG Infra Engineering is set to play a key role in strengthening eastern India’s power transmission network, while expanding its own capabilities in the power sector.
