The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur inaugurated the two-day Impact RISE 2026 Conclave at its Research Park in Newtown, Kolkata. Themed “Forging Futures: Engineering Social Change – Converging Capital, Innovation, and Action”, the event brings together leaders from government, academia, industry, and civil society to advance India’s sustainable development agenda.
The Impact RISE 2026 Conclave, hosted by IIT Kharagpur, was inaugurated on January 18 at the institute’s Research Park in Newtown, Kolkata. The event was opened by ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan, who lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the start of a landmark initiative focused on sustainability, innovation, and social impact.
The conclave aims to foster collaboration between government officials, PSU leaders, scientists, academics, impact investors, and NGOs, aligning with India’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
