India And World Economic Forum Join Hands To Launch Skills Accelerator

India is set to join the league of countries implementing the World Economic Forum’s Skills Accelerator program. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed an MoU with WEF to establish this multistakeholder platform, designed to identify, scale, and accelerate innovative solutions and public-private partnerships.  

The Skills Accelerator will focus on strengthening India’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem, ensuring closer alignment between skilling initiatives and evolving industry needs. It will also promote lifelong learning, large-scale reskilling, and industry-aligned training to prepare India’s workforce for future challenges. With similar accelerators already active in countries like Brazil, Indonesia, and Nigeria, India’s participation marks a significant step in addressing critical skills gaps.
