India's mobile phone manufacturing industry has achieved a historic milestone, with exports surpassing ₹1.5 lakh crore in the first 10 months of FY25. This remarkable growth, driven by the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, represents a 680% increase since FY21. The India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) projects total mobile exports to reach ₹1.8 lakh crore by the fiscal year's end. ICEA Chairman Pankaj Mohindroo emphasized the need to build on this momentum, focusing on competitiveness and supply chain strengthening. With the U.S. emerging as a key market, smartphones are poised to become India's top export commodity, showcasing the country's rising prominence in global electronics manufacturing.
