IndiGo Spreads Its Wings: Direct Flights to London, Athens, and Eight More Cities Launch This Year

IndiGo, the largest and fastest-growing airline in India, is gearing up to launch direct flights to 10 exciting new international destinations this financial year, marking a significant step in its global journey. CEO Pieter Elbers shared the news during a press conference in Delhi, pointing out that London, Athens, Amsterdam, Manchester, Copenhagen, Siem Reap, and four cities in Central Asia will be part of these new routes.

•⁠  ⁠Expanded Global Reach: IndiGo is set to kick off non-stop services to London and Athens, along with Amsterdam, Manchester, Copenhagen, Siem Reap (Cambodia), and four cities in Central Asia, increasing its international network from 40 to 50 destinations by the end of FY26.
 
•⁠  ⁠Long-Haul Debut: The airline will make its long-haul debut with direct flights from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam starting in July, using leased Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
 
•⁠  ⁠Business Class and Service Upgrades: IndiGo plans to roll out its “Stretch” business class on select international routes, including Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, and Phuket, to cater to travelers looking for a premium experience.
 
•⁠  ⁠Fleet Expansion: The introduction of Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787 aircraft will bolster the airline’s long-haul growth and capacity, with ambitions to operate over 100 daily departures from Navi Mumbai International Airport by March 2026.
