In a life-altering stroke of luck, Sabish Peroth, a 42-year-old Dubai-based Indian expatriate, has won the prized amount of one million US dollars (around Rs 8.63 crore) in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw conducted on July 23, 2025. The win is the result of six years of uninterrupted entries to the promotion by Sabish and his nine Indian friends, who are now also part of the windfall.

Key Highlights: The Long Road to Victory

Sabish, a Kerala native now working as a senior operations supervisor at GAC Group, bought his winning ticket online on 4 July 2025, with ticket number 4296 in Millennium Millionaire Series 508.

He conveyed utter shock and appreciation, saying that the group's continued participation throughout the years eventually paid off, and they plan to keep joining in the years to come.

With this victory, Sabish is the 254th Indian national to win the million-dollar award since the beginning of the draw in 1999, reflecting the deep presence and popularity of Indian expats in this long-running promotion.

In addition to Sabish, other winners are Maen Saleh, a 57-year-old Russian expatriate based in Doha, who also won $1 million, the first Russian to have done so in the Millennium Millionaire promotion.

The Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise draw also featured several Indian winners of high-end cars such as a Ducati motorcycle and a Bentley Bentayga, showing the broad range of prizes and possibilities for entrants.

Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draws still draw a huge and varied following of participants, with Indian expatriates usually prominent as frequent entrants and winners. Sabish's victory after six years of optimistic participation underscores the combination of patience, fortune, and communal spirit among expatriates participating in Dubai's vibrant lottery culture, providing a source of hope and motivation for many.
