Air India Express has begun resuming services to the Middle East from June 24, following regional airspace reopening from a temporary suspension due to heightened geopolitics in the region.

The airline suspended flights earlier in the week after airspace was closed by countries like Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait in response to Iran's missile strikes on U.S. military bases. The closure of flights impacted several global routes, forcing airlines to divert or cancel flights.

As bans on airspace start to relax, Air India Express is resuming operations to major Middle Eastern hubs such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, and Dammam, with most operations resuming normally on June 25. The company clarified that passenger safety would be the top priority, and it would continue to avoid any airspace that it deems unsafe.

This move is a welcome respite to thousands of stranded passengers and a step that brings Indian airlines closer to resuming full international connectivity.
