The much-awaited Bollywood comedy Welcome To The Jungle, the third installment of the hit Welcome series, has hit a major roadblock. With a star-studded cast and sky-high expectations, filming on the movie has been put in indefinite limbo due to unpaid amounts to cast and crew and pending financial issues.

Major Developments

Filming was initiated in December 2023 but has barely progressed beyond August 2024.

Nearly 70% of the film is reportedly complete, but the rest 30%—including a major Kashmir schedule—is yet to be done.

Multiple shooting schedules have been abruptly axed in the past six months, leaving actors and technicians in limbo.

Behind the Delay: Crossed Narratives

Some reports indicate that the delay has taken place because of non-payment of dues to the cast and crew, with some members of the cast having reportedly walked out of the project.

One of the counter-narratives says that the delay is due to the Pahalgam terror attack, which had left the Kashmir shoot plans in disarray.

Despite the uncertainty, many actors are committed to the film because of franchise loyalty.

Points to Note

Akshay Kumar is reportedly having 80% in the film, and the remaining 20% is being used by producer Firoz Nadiadwala and others.

The film was originally scheduled to release in December 2024, later shifted to 2025, but with things as they stand now, it is doubtful.

The star cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, and others.

Current Outlook

While some sources are firm that the shoot is still on track and would resume after the monsoon at another location, others are less sure considering the current financial crunch.

Producer Firoz Nadiadwala is yet to come out with an official statement on the payment issues or rescheduling.
